James W. Spillman

 

James W. Spillman, age 66 of Marion, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. OnApril 11, 1956, hewas born inMarion to the late Jessie James and Grace Evelyn (Bibbee) Spillman, and on June 19, 1976, he married his loving wife, Betty Jean (Baker).

James worked as a corrections officer forMarion Correctional for 34 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Betty Spillman; his son Paul (JillHopper) Spillman; his daughter Brandy Spillman; his brother John (Brenda) Spillman; his sister Linda Spillman-Kear; and his grandchildren Brooklyn Spillman, Kennedy Spillman, Kelsey Spillman, and Cayden Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Grace, his brother Larry Spillman, his sister Helen Spillman, and his niece Jessica Spillman Fausnaugh.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4 pmto 7pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10 am at the Boyd FuneralHome. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
