MARION: Wayne R. Green age 80 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday October 13, 2015 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born September 4, 1935 in Paris, Ky. to the late Thomas Logan and Goldena (Burgess) Green. On September 4, 1954 he married Flora L. Edwards and she survives.
Wayne was retired as an electronics instructor from the Marion Correctional Institution. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Marion. Wayne loved old time gospel music and was an avid reader of his bible. He loved reading in general, always trying to learn as much as he could. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Fan and loved playing board games with the grandchildren over the years.
Besides his wife, Wayne leaves behind a daughter, Monica L. (Curtis) DeLong of Mason City, Iowa; four grandchildren; Lori (Jason) Fish, Amy DeLong, Benjamin (Irene) DeLong, and Kimberly (Kelson) Crooks; two brothers also survive, Ronald (Carolyn) Green and Thomas Logan Green, Jr., both of Lebanon, Ohio.
Funeral services will be on Friday October 16, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Wayne's son-in-law, Pastor Curtis DeLong. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday October 15, 2015 from 5 to 7 P.M.
