     Joan H. Roscoe, age 80, of Marion went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 10, 2023, at 9:53 AM from her home. Joan was born in Cleveland, OH. on July 30, 1942 to the late John and Hattie (Gibson ) Mabra. In November of 1974, Joan married McKinley A. Roscoe in Cleveland, OH. and he preceded her in death in June of 1981 in Marion.

     She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Black Heritage Association, Marion Senior Citizens, Kingston Adult Day Care, and the League of Women Voters. Joan was a Social Worker & Drug Councelor for 25 years at the Marion Correctional Institution be fore her retirement in 1997.

     The 50 year resident of Marion is survived by 3 sons, Melvin Henderson of Englewood, OH., Duane (Deborah) Henderson, & McKinley Roscoe both of Marion, OH., a daughter, Jacqueline (Albert) Twine of Marion, OH., 11 grandchildren, Albert (Eunice), Rafeal, Jackie “Precious”, Isaiah, Rebekka, Starr, (Brendan), Maurice, Ebonee, Jonathan, Michael, & Jordan, and 9 great grandchildren. A son, Jonathan Henderson preceded her in death.

     Friends may call at the Boyd Funeral Home on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Christ Missionary Baptist Church on Friday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Julius Law officiating. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
