Michael D. Marsino
ASHLAND: Michael D. Marsino, 74, of Hillcrest Drive, Ashland, died Saturday morning, June 18, 2011 in Colonial Manor Health Care Center, Loudonville,
following a 3-year illness.
Michael was born September 10,
1936 in Columbus and was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy
(Downes) Marsino. Michael was a graduate of The Ohio
State University and received his Masters Degree from Xavier University. He was a 37-year employee of the Ohio Dept. of Corrections, retiring
in 1996 as Deputy Superintendent of the Mansfield Correctional Institute.
Michael began his career working as a social worker at the Ohio State
Penitentiary, and working many years at the former Mansfield Reformatory. He
was an avid civil war enthusiast and Cleveland Browns fan. He was a US Air
Force Reservist and Ohio Air National Guard. On November 28, 1998 he married Patricia (Lemaster) Marsino and she
survives him. Michael was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, Ashland.
He is also survived by five
daughters: Melissa (Rick) McAdam of Yellowstone, WY, Sara Elizabeth Marsino of FL, Kimberly (Perry) Rambacher of
Perrysville, Tammy (Doug) Boutwell of Loudonville, and Tonya (Jim) Goossens of
Perrysville; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be
held Thursday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville. Friends may call Thursday morning one hour prior to
services in the Byerly-Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville.
