Gale Schuler





MARION: Gale Schuler, age 80, of Marion, Ohio passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Heartland of Marion.

He was born
February 12, 1934 in Keystone, SD., to the late Ralph R. and Esther (Dow) Schuler.

On
September 17, 1955 he married Wanda Elene (Barlow) Schuler, she preceded him in death on September 21, 2011.

Gale graduated of
Upper Sandusky High School in 1952, a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict on the USS Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #889, Elks #32, VFW and American Legion Post, he was formerly employed at Eaton Corp., and retired in 2000 from M.C.I. as a corrections officer after 20 plus years.

He is survived by his two children, Gary Lee Schuler of Marion, OH, Lisa (Ron) Moore of Oak Creek, WI; granddaughter, Kaylee Alizabeth Moore, step grandson, Nathan Allen Moore; his brother, Charles (Judy) Schuler of Carey, OH.

Gale was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Schuler and his sister, Grace Piecha.

The family would like to thank Heartland of Marion and Marion General Hospice for their tender loving care of their father.

Visitation for Gale will be
Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 4 - 7 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, June 23. 2014 at 10 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Irey officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens where military honors will be conducted by Marion County United Veterans Council.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marion General Hospice in Gale's memory.
