MARION: Carlos R. "Corky" Wylie, age 47 of Marion, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening July 7th at Marion General Hospital after suffering a fall at home. He was born May 15th, 1962 the son of the late Sylvia J. (Golden) Wylie.
He was a graduate of Marion Harding High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of the Army - Navy Union Garrison No. 137 in Marion. He was formerly employed as a corrections officer at the Marion Correctional Facility. Corky is survived by his daughter, Danelle (Mike) Austin; and two grandsons, Tyler and Michael Austin, all of Marion. Two brothers, Butch (Karen) Wylie of Marion and Bob (Terry) Wylie of Caledonia. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. The family is planning a memorial services for a later date. No calling hours were observed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home of Caledonia.

OKEECHOBEE, FL: Don William Mosier Sr., 73, of Okeechobee, Florida and formerly of Marion died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Raulerson Hospital in Okeechobee.
He was born in Edison, Ohio on February 12, 1936 the son of the late William Andrew and Mary Evelyn (Ward) Mosier. Don was a graduate of Edison High School in Edison High School, the class of 1955.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and also served two years in the Reserve. On September 25, 1958 Don married his loving wife Elizabeth Ann "Boots" Woods. She survives in Okeechobee, Florida.
Don worked in Law enforcement as a correctional officer for 27 years; 5 years at Marion Correctional in Marion, Ohio and 22 Years for Florida State Corrections. He retired as a Captain.
Whether he was hunting, fishing, or playing golf Don enjoyed spending time outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he will be missed by his two sons, Don Jr. "Skip" and his wife Joanna of Miami, Florida and James Andrew of Port St. Lucie; five grandchildren, Danielle Cheyenne Mosier, Scott Andrew Mosier, Tyler James Mosier, Joshua John Rodriguez, and Maryssa Rodriguez; a sister, Joann Kelly of Edison; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Brody Mosier; and his sister, Betty Postlewaite.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 4th 2009 at the Snyder Funeral Homes, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead at 1:00 p.m. with Willard Delaney officiating. Burial will follow in Worden Cemetery in Denmark Township. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Ronald LaVerne Turner
MARION: On June 24, 2009 our Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away. Ron was born in Marion, Ohio to Donna Belle (Weston) and Kenneth Turner on February 25, 1935 (both are deceased.)
He is survived by the love of his life, June L. (Willhoite) Turner, married June 30, 1956. He will be truly missed by his daughters, Renee L. (Turner) Thornton, Lori A. Turner; grandchildren, Andrew C. Crisswell of Colorado, Kelly Jo (Brad) Blumensheid of Ohio, and Jess Lee "Chase" Thornton; great-grandchild, Jackson C. Crisswell also of Colorado. Also brothers, Robert (Norma) Turner of Ohio, Richard Turner (deceased at 42) of Ohio; sister, Marlene (Dan deceased 2000) Fosnaugh of Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Ron was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1963. He was employed for 32 years at GTE as a draftsman and electrical engineer, 10 years at the Marion Correctional Institute as a high security prison guard. After retiring he and June joined the Whetstone Woodcarving Club in 1997 and retired as president January 2009, due to illness.
For those of you who did not have the honor to know him, Ron was the most caring, honest, and loving person put on this earth, willing to go out of his way to do anything for anyone that needed his love, help, and guidance. He has so many talents, from the most beautiful oil paintings, to amazing and unbelievable woodcarvings that he so enjoyed doing along with his wife.
Ron's family had a closed service Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Boyd-Born Funeral Home, where then he was laid to rest at the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Brush Ridge, Ohio.
