Edward Micheal Myers, age 49, of Willard, Ohio, lost his fight with ALS on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 30, 1971, in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Merle Edward Myers and Judith (Lowe) Darling. He was a man whom loved his guns, B-BQing and making beer. He enjoyed his job as a correctional officer at MCI. He loved to share his stories of drag racing his 1968 Camaro. He also enjoyed cooking and making rootbeer with his niece Jazmine and picking on his niece Georgianna, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He could never of been more proud of each of his children, including his dog Grady.

He is survived by his wife, Emily (Pifher) Myers; children, Hannah Myers of Columbus, Keith Myers of Lexington, Sawyer Myers and Edison Myers, both of Willard; and sisters, Amanda (Jason) Mullins and Rachelle Myers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Merle Edward Myers and Judith (Lowe) Darling, also his grandma Mary L. (Leiper) Siegfried, who would take him fishing and showed him how to shoot a Shotgun..

The calling hours will be Friday, November 5, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio and the memorial service will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, with Fr. Kara Rae Russell

 


Prospect - Kara Rae Russell, 52 of Prospect, died peacefully Monday evening, January 18, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family following an 8-year battle with breast cancer.

She was born July 21, 1968 in Marion to Duane P. and Lesta (Eblin) Basel.

On December 3, 1994 she married Michael E. Russell in the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion and he survives.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waldo. Kara was a Registered Nurse, receiving her BSN from the 1st class at the Mount Carmel School of Nursing. She had worked at the Smith Clinic, Marion Correctional Institute and finally as a Nursing Supervisor at the Bureau of Workers Comp.

She was a 1986 graduate of Elgin High School. After high school she went to live and work in Australia via FFA for 7 months. Kara loved baking cakes for all family celebrations. She had been a 4-H Advisor for the Prospect Explorers and always enjoyed the Marion County Fair with her family. She loved to go camping and boating in East Harbor State Park near Port Clinton and vacationing in the U. P. of Michigan.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her mother, Lesta Basel, Marion; a son, Max E. Russell; a daughter; Jillian M. Russell, both at home; a sister, Kris (Doug) Guthrie, Marion; her mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Patty Russell, Prospect; sisters-in-law, Julie (Bryon) Bigford, Marion; Jennifer (Ty) Williams, Waldo; brothers-in-law, Andy (Laura) Russell, Marion; John Yirga, Gates Mills.

Many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Duane P. Basel, a sister, Kim Yirga.

Public calling hours will be Friday, January 22, 2021 from 3 to 7 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waldo (strict covid precautions will be enforced). A private family service will be held at St. Paul's, Although the services are private, to watch the Livestream on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 11:00 pm, open the Facebook app and like the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home page.

Pastor Robert Ohrstedt will officiate and burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery.

Nora Alice Corbin Daniel


 

Nora Alice Corbin Daniel was born on April 2nd, 1950. She passed away on November 4th, 2021.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at the American Legion Post 162 in Marion, OH on December 5th, 2021 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Nora was Preceded in death by her mother; Alka Corbin, father; Elmer Corbin, brother; Herb and Jerry Corbin, and son; Mick Crawford.

She is survived by her sons; Bill Crawford and Harold Red Russell, her special friend; Rick Davis, and numerous brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
